<Note>
  **Recurring vs. One-Time**: Birthdays and anniversaries are recurring - once recorded, they automatically appear on future stays when the date falls within the reservation period. Other celebration types are one-time events tied to a specific stay.
</Note>

## Celebration Dashboard

The Celebrations dashboard shows all upcoming celebrations for guests with active reservations.

### Filtering by Guest Status

Use the status tabs to filter celebrations:

* **Arrivals** - Guests arriving today
* **In-House** - Guests currently staying
* **Upcoming** - Future reservations

You can select multiple statuses at once to see a combined view.

### What You'll See

Each celebration entry shows:

* Guest name and photo
* Room number
* Celebration type and date
* Additional details
* Accompanying guests

<Tip>
  Look for the **recurring icon** (circular arrow) next to dates - this indicates a recurring celebration that was recorded on a previous stay but is relevant to the current reservation.
</Tip>

### Taking Action

Click any celebration to open the detail view where you can:

* View full celebration details
* Add comments for your team
* Edit the celebration information
* Delete if entered in error

## Recurring Celebrations

Birthdays and anniversaries work differently from other celebrations:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Initial Recording">
    When you record a birthday or anniversary, ABRA saves the date to the guest's profile.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Automatic Surfacing">
    On future stays, if the celebration date falls within 10 days of the reservation dates, it automatically appears in the Celebrations dashboard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="No Duplicate Entry">
    You don't need to re-enter recurring celebrations - they persist in the guest profile and surface when relevant.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Info>
  ABRA uses a 10-day buffer around reservation dates to surface recurring celebrations. This ensures you're alerted even if the celebration falls slightly before check-in or after checkout.
</Info>

## Celebration Icons

Throughout ABRA, celebration icons appear next to guest names to give quick visual cues:

| Icon           | Celebration |
| -------------- | ----------- |
| Cake           | Birthday    |
| Heart Calendar | Anniversary |
| Wedding Rings  | Honeymoon   |
| Baby Carriage  | Babymoon    |
| Graduation Cap | Graduation  |
| Diamond Ring   | Engagement  |
| Checkered Flag | Retirement  |

These icons appear in the guest list, reservation views, and dashboards to help staff quickly identify guests with celebrations.
